Last week, unfortunately, I missed the screening of Mystery Road. But I have finally watched it (only a week late).

I’m not the biggest fan of the whole ‘Australian Outback’ setting, but with that said, I actually thought the movie was quite alright. And while it did have some moments where I kind of zoned out a little, looking back at the experience, it was actually well done.

I’m not really to fond of murder mysteries that always have to rely on the detective accidentally stumbling across key information, or when the murderer so carelessly leaves behind evidence at the scene for the detective to find. Mystery Road did what I prefer a murder mystery film would do, where the detective actually goes out hunting for the evidence. It just tends to drive the story better.
