The Edit #5

Again, I already had this pre-written, but I just never had the time to post it with the rush to the deadline.

This was probably the most difficult part of the assignment. Writing music is a fun task, but having to synchronize it with a video is pretty difficult.

I actually recorded each section individually, (and by each section, I mean each chord), due to the fact that I started this before I recorded the actual interview. So with no structure to follow, I had no idea how I was going to form the actual song. So I just quickly created a chord sequence, and waited until after I recorded the interview.

The next difficult part about it was when I had to fill in a small gap that couldn’t fit a whole sequence of chords. I ended up tackling this problem by deciding to put a moment of silence right before the interview started. And to transition from the silence into the music, I digitally reversed one of the pre-recorded chords and used it to build into the abrupt start of the song. In the end, this effect sounded better than what I had originally planned. The way it built up into the interview made it seem like the interview was a bigger deal than it actually was.
