So, for our Media 1 seminar, we were given a small task that involved the use of H2N Recorders. The task was to record an interview on a choice of three topics:
- What I like about RMIT City Campus
- RMIT Library – different spaces and what you can do there
- My favourite place on/near campus to grab a coffee/bite to eat
We were sent in pairs to go out and record two interviews; one formal, and one informal. We then had to record an ambience based on the topic of the interview.
As I don’t really hang around the RMIT campus except for when I’m actually going to classes, I obviously chose the topic of places to grab coffee. So, we ended up recording different sounds that you would hear in a cafe which we would then mix in with the interview recording. In using this method, we’d have complete control over the volume of the background in relation to the volume of the foreground.
Anyway, here’s the finished product of the ‘formal’ interview. (Apologies for the awkwardness, neither of us had the ability to speak formally at the given time)
