So, in our Media 1 seminar this week, we watched each others self portraits.Looking around the room, I noticed that everyone had the exact same reactions as each other when their own video came up. Personally, I thought they were all well done, even though it seemed that people didn’t really like what they made. I was impressed with the variety of styles that I saw, and decided that each individual video was too unique to compare, (not that I was going to compare every video to each other). So I thought about it, and realized that the only reason I should be embarrassed would be if I had an extreme flaw in my personality, (which I hope I don’t). When my video showed up on the screen, I thought that instead of worrying about what other people think, I should just sit back and enjoy my finished product. That made the whole experience of showing my work to others so much better. And while there were parts that I literally felt uncomfortable with everyone watching, I took it as an opportunity to learn what I would do differently next time, so I guess that’s a positive.
