‘The Art of Loving’ explores the theme of intimacy in relationship to yourself, your environment and others through the lens of Jessica Barclay Lawton’s filmography.

I was fortunate enough to interview Jessica Barclay Lawton over zoom where I was able to ask her a variety of questions relating to her work, her experience in the industry as a women and the topics she likes to explore in her work. What struck me most in Lawton’s work was her unflinching ability to display intimacy on screen in all its glory and in forms I had not yet seen on screen.

This poetic approach to my profile, explores not only Lawton’s relationship to her work but also draws connections between her films whilst opening up space for contemplation by the audience.
