This is my rendition of Disappearing Act, a script written by an anonymous student from our studio and then I’ve picked and created. I originally had filmed this script over Zoom with my classmates, but after feeling frustrated over the need for better quality video I caved in and decided to re-shoot with my housemate. Filming in isolation is already a challenge given to us, but being able to work over Zoom or in person with housemates has turned out to be an interesting and easy process, although Zoom does has its downsides of course. I enjoyed this filming process, the last two years in the Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media, every film shoot I’ve been on has been the same; A crew of 4-5 all with their own roles, travelling every day to set locations and half-interested conversations with actors found on StarNow. This semester, however, gave me a fresh and interesting look at how a film can be made, the challenges that arrise from working from home with a crew and a cast seems ridiculous, but it is very possible.
To whoever wrote Disappearing Act, I hope you enjoy this version of your story, and enjoy!
