SYNOPSIS
Old trends reappear, traditional methods adapt to new ones, everyone is attempting to keep up with the spinning wheel of fashion evolution. Orbit La Mode is not an attack on the industry, it is a celebration of the CHANGE and EVOLUTION within the world of fashion and the media industry. Inspired by Viktor and Rolf’s 1999 Russian doll collection presentation, a continuous twirling ballerina signifies the ever changing fashion industry. Beginning with the silent film tribute, the use of black and white to a slow transition of colour as the outfit evolves, depicts the different method of media industry growth with the introduction of sound in 1930’s to the addition of technicolor in 1939. The focus of the colour Orange is to further emphasis CHANGE, the change in fashion, in trends, in technology, and in how we view content. Orbit La Mode is an abstract art house film that allows for audience interpretation.
