Congratulations Kyah, Zahra, Ambriehl and Alison. That final sequence with the 3 or 4 (possibly more?)
overlaying images is just mesmerizing – especially when the black jeans overlays the black shirt and you get a section of vivid contrast. That section in itself was a beautiful dance in itself, that I could sit and enjoy for ages. I love the decision to focus on hands and feet, especial as they engage in their craft – the idea of there being a dance-like quality to knitting, stretching and painting holds a lot of merit I think, and you explored it well. Great job!
I really enjoyed this piece! I thought the editing and choices of music and colouring all went together well. I also like the way in which you have joined together the more typical body movements or ‘dancing’ with the more unconventional things that can be seen as choreographed.
well done!
There are a couple of particularly lovely moments in this, as others have also mentioned. I think you could really take those couple of moments and explore them further, really simplify the visual and thematic concerns. In the simplicity you could develop one or two of the moments in a more sustained way, accessing something deeper. I don’t think you needed four people’s actions. An exploration of just feet on carpet, for example, could have yielded an interesting ‘foot’ study. I think Daisy’s comments are interesting, too, that it’s the relationship between the activities she was drawn to. In which case, perhaps we needed more time with each action, before they were brought into a relation. Perhaps a longer, slower, simpler editing approach? Well done!
I really enjoyed the layering of two images, and the contrast these images had against one another. I loved the flowing movements from Kyah and how the music complimented said movements. Overall, a very calming piece! 🙂
Very relaxing and soothing to watch and visually captivating! The idea of using the frames by layering them and showing all four on screen at once was a choreography of different editing techniques and worked really well together. The different actions blended together rather harmoniously. Really great work
This made me feel really relaxed. I particularly like the shot of (I think) Ambriehl stretching on the floor, and whoever did the feet in the carpet. I think the black and white draws all the shots together. Great little study of the body
