Against the backdrop of a country proud of its multiculturalism are Marvin and Ciang, two sides of the same coin. One has lived here all their life as a child of Filipino immigrant parents, while the other fled South Sudan when he was young. Through retelling stories of racism, the film explores the ingrained and subtle racism that runs within the fabric of Australian society. While having different experiences, both share the struggle of being outsiders, of striving to be understood and being accepted in a country which has already made up its mind.
