Appropriated Comfort
Appropriated Comfort is an intimate spatial investigation of Ikea and the ‘Ikea Effect’. After exploring the maze like tendencies that dictate the Ikea experience in our previous project, we decided to examine the Ikea effect in relation to the religious experience. Starting with a picture of the Ikea catalogue resembling a bible, our exploration of the space within the context of religion became an intense examination of not only the obvious connection between the two organizations but an examination of the psychology used by both powerful institutions.
