COMM2650 Assessment 2

Task 2: Piece of writing (30%) | Due Week 9 | Thursday 21 September

You are to write an original piece of up to 1000 words prose (or equivalent for other writing forms if appropriate).

The nature of this piece of writing will be outlined by your lab tutor, and may include an analysis of an influential text or a feedback coverage report.

In the This Is Serial lab, Task 2 will take in the form of written feedback on another student’s webisode script and/or scene-by-scene breakdown. You will write this up according to a format discussed in class, loosely based on the ‘coverage’ reports produced by professional script readers. As part of your 1000-word report, you will write a logline and synopsis for the webisode, before writing up your considered feedback incorporating your precis of such elements as story, structure, character, theme, tone, style, pace, dialogue and vision.

NB: the script you supply for feedback should be no fewer than 2 pages, and no more than 8 pages, long. Please supply this to your reader no later than 5pm Friday 15 September.
