Troy Innocent in a primarily visual artist based in Melbourne. Troy has been working in art for about 25 years, realising his passion after studying graphic design and realising he wanted to break free of the constraints of the practice.
Troy’s primary platform is digital. He creates visual codes that can be read by a computer. However after digitally creating these codes he will create physical objects by placing geometric shapes together. The pieces are also made to be decoded or ‘abstracted’ by humans as well as computers, and in this way Troy explores the way humans read different visual languages and decode different experiences. The pieces are also created to be aesthetic art objects that work with colour, shape and form.
