My experience with Radio’s New Wave had me growing not only as a media student but as a person, right from the get-go. From the very first lesson we were put into pairs and told to spend the week making a radio documentary feature on our partner. Bang. Just like that. Straight into it. Being the type of person that benefits most from experiential learning, I knew from then that I was going to learn a lot in this studio. I’ve learnt plenty about sound, radio, documentary and everything in between you could possibly think of, but I think the most valuable thing I’ve learnt this semester is what I’m capable of. I’ve become more organised, I think ahead a little more and I find myself asking more and more; How can I do this better? And I’m pretty chuffed about that.
