So it is good or is it bad to be anonymity online through TOR?
There are always two sides of the problems that we face. TOR itself was invented for a good cause but as it develops and becomes available to the public, no restricted to access, it has made a powerful tool on the Internet, which is far more complicated and dangerous than any other things out there on the Internet.
Of course, we cannot deny the freedom TOR give us to facilitate free flow of communication and anonymity online to do so many things to our lives within the social circle but also the help it brings to bigger communities, organization which could affect a nation government or politic games. But things can be out of our control easily.
Accountability lies at the heart of democratic tradition and is crucial to the continued stability of a free and fair society. Once the safety net is removed, deceit and crime will be fostered, and the numbers of victims unable to obtain justice will increase. Governments will become unaccountable when those in power facilitate the anonymity to their own ends. It was distrust of government that led to uses of TOR’s anonymous communications as a means to ensure freedom of speech. The end results of anonymity, however, plays right into government’s hands and has little real impact in terms of free speech.
There is no right or wrong to the use of TOR. It is the purpose of the action that counts.
