In this studio I was interested in the idea of places as locations of memory and memorialisation. With some inspiration from a talk given to us by Paul Gough from the University, I approached the Former Magistrate’s Court with reverence, and attempted to capture the architecture as a representation of memory and history of Melbourne. My goal was to explore and document the space as a place out of time and an anachronism that represents a significant time in the history of this Australian city.
