For this coming Friday apply the edits that have been suggested today, keep writing. Aim for 1500 words maximum. We are going to work intensively on the writing on Friday and will try to have a completed poetic style essay by the end of Friday ready to be recorded.
There were very good questions about writing, structure, argument today. Write in a way where you follow where the ideas lead, it can be personal. You can acknowledge what you don’t know. But it is not opinion. It comes from thinking seriously and from the reading and research we have been doing. However, we can’t get your work there, and you can’t learn how and why to do this, without doing it. So commit the edits from today and have between 1200 and 1500 words DRAFTED for Friday.
Writing. And writing. And editing. Today was a crash course in how to write more effectively, and better (they are two different things). The finished audiovisual works should have outstanding essayistic soundtracks and we are now working on doing this, and how to write in ways that make this happen.
